What is CJC 1295?
CJC 1295 is a synthetic peptide analogue of Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone (GHRH) – a hormone that stimulates GH production through a pulsating fashion.

Unstable Blood Glucose Levels [A]
GH is known for increasing blood sugar levels. This is something you will have to keep an eye on while taking CJC 1295. Especially if your diet is heavy in carbs.
How to mitigate:
- To fight this side effect I recommend taking 300mg of Berberine before every meal containing more than 50g of carbs while on CJC 1295.
Water Retention [A]
CJC 1295 will cause water retention which can potentially lead to high blood pressure and in some cases edema.
Water retention is very common with anything that increases GH.
How to mitigate:
- To mitigate water retention from CJC 1295, lower your carb and sodium intake, and up your potassium intake by eating potassium-rich foods
- Supplementing with Dandelion Root at 500mg/day or a natural diuretic blend will also help
Cancer (Growth Risk) [A]
CJC 1295 will accelerate the growth of existing cancer cells, as will anything that increases circulating levels of GH and IGF-1. This side effect can be potentially lethal for anyone that has cancer.
Other Side Effects [A]
Feeling lethargic, and feelings of numbness or tingling in extremities are common with anything that increases GH.
Having superphysiological levels of GH can also lead to the growth of hands, feet, nose, ears, and even organs.
How to mitigate:
- Lethargy is typically resolved by simply lowering the dose
- Tngling and numbness go away when measures against water retention are taken on
Dosing Protocol & Administration
CJC 1295 w/DAC has a half-life of 6-8 days. Because of its long half-life, it does not require daily injections like most peptides.
The optimal weekly dose for CJC 1295 is 2mg, which can be injected once or twice a week. If you want GH & IGF-1 levels to be more stable, then split the dose and inject twice a week. But personally, I find once a week to be enough.
Just like other peptides, CJC 1295 is administered through subcutaneous injections. The ideal place to inject is in the lower belly fat region. CJC 1295 can cause flu-like symptoms and dizziness a few hours after injection. So the best time to inject it is before bed, this way you sleep through these symptoms.
If you opt to fast in the morning, you will leverage and maximize the lipolysis caused by CJC 1295 if your goal is fat loss.
Combining CJC 1295 with Other Peptides
CJC 1295 is also a very good addition to MK 677 or Ipamorelin, as well as other GH secretagogues because it acts through a different pathway. Combining it with something else will lead to ridiculously high IGF-1 levels.
If you are using CJC 1295 to:
- gain muscle, burn fat, or heal an injury, I would not exceed 12 weeks. Always rest for 4-6 weeks (at least) before you cycle it again.
- If you are using CJC 1295 for anti-aging, you can run it for long periods of time but only at a low dose.
There are anecdotal cases that have used this compound for 6 months + or more without any issues.
