ARA-290 is a fascinating peptide that you have never heard of. It is derived from Erythropoietin, the hormone responsible for the production of red blood cells.
Unlike its parent molecule, however, ARA-290 does not increase RBC production. Instead, it has incredible pain-inhibiting and neuroprotective effects that can be incredibly beneficial to athletes.
In this article, we will take a look at how it works, what to expect from it, how to use it, and where to get it!
Despite the fact that there isn’t a lot of scientific evidence supporting ARA-290, this is what one can anticipate from this peptide based on both the limited scientific evidence we do have and the available anecdotal reports online:
ARA-290 has been shown to obstruct the activity of the TRPV1 channel, responsible for the perception of heat and pain. Lifters who use ARA-290 can expect to feel less pain during intense sets, allowing them to push harder.
ARA-290 binds to the Innate Repair Receptor (IRR), which reduces inflammatory responses in the body.
ARA-290 is thought to bind to tissue-protective receptors (TPRs) and block the activation of macrophages. This, in turn, may inhibit inflammatory cytokines such as IL-2 & IL-6 (which are linked to neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s and dementia).
In other words, ARA-290 may help prevent neurodegenerative diseases, and it may negate the neurotoxic effects of Trenbolone (which increases the aforementioned inflammatory cytokines).
ARA-290 may have cardioprotective effects by preventing blood pressure increases and improving left ventricular function (which tends to deteriorate with age, especially in hardcore enhanced bodybuilding).
There is also speculation that ARA-290 may help heal skin wounds like cuts, bruises, and burns, but the exact mechanism of action through which it does so is not well understood yet.
ARA-290 appears to be incredibly safe, but more studies and long-term data about it are needed in order to establish if it can cause serious side-effects of any kind.
ARA-290 protocols are mainly based on trial and error.
Personally, I start taking 1 mg a day shortly before a workout (in order to reap its pain-inhibiting effects) and work my way up to 2 mg a day and eventually try 3 or even 4 mg a day.
Due to the experimental nature of this peptide, I would not use it for more than 30 days at a time.
